Flac support on the iPhone

Ok, everyone may as well bow down to ZodTTD now. Just after our last post, he goes and blows us away once more. If you didn’t already know, ZodTTD has been working on porting the media player VLC over to the iPhone for the past week or so, and he’s pretty much done it.

There are now tons of supported codecs: FLV, XviD, H264, MPEG4, AAC, FLAC, 3GP, MP3, MPEG2, AVI, VCD, DivX, WMA and WMV.

Wow. Seriously? Wow. This dude is awesome.

Popular Media Player VLC Now Avaliable On The iPhone

Lots of new codecs supported

The uber-popular video/media player VLC (Video LAN Client) has been ported to the iPhone. What does this mean? It means that a large slew of new file formats are now playable on the little device – and that’s obviously a good thing!

The software is currently in private beta, but is expected to release to the public late next week via Installer.app.

It is unlikely there will be an official version downloadable through the Apple Application Store.
